ANXIETY IS REAL!
BY: CATHY VILLANUEVA-LAGO
Anxiety is real, but nothing can be more real than Jesus Himself.
My soul felt so heavy the past weeks. It was more than a month of struggling. I would wake up every morning feeling anxious. It seemed like my joy was stolen from me. What made it worse is the fact that I went through severe anxiety in 2015. The more I felt its symptoms, the more I became fearful and anxious. But I didn't want anyone to know because I knew I would have another powerful testimony to tell.
I would drag myself to that secret place every morning, not knowing what to say. Those were early mornings when I would just ask the Holy Spirit to fill me with words to say. Those became powerful moments of conviction. In the midst of my struggle with anxiety, I never stopped believing that God is good and that He will deliver me once again. I never doubted His love for me. I just knew in my heart that I would overcome because I was confident in His willingness and ability to heal and deliver.
I intentionally avoided every negative news because I didn't want to meditate on them. Though I would force myself to pray, I intentionally filled my soul with His word. I spent moments reading the Book of Psalms. His promises became my weapon. I would use it to contradict every lie of the enemy. The song 'Raise a Hallelujah' became my song and constant declaration. My heart was constantly singing its lyrics. My heart was shouting in victory ... the same shout that caused the fall of the walls of Jericho.
This is another testimony of deliverance. God's word is alive and powerful. He sent His word for our healing and deliverance. He hears the prayers of the righteous and He promised to deliver him out of all his troubles and afflictions. His word doesn't return to Him void. It accomplishes what He pleases and prospers in the thing for which He sent it. His word is filled with His promises, which are all YES and AMEN.
JESUS is our strength in every area of weakness. He is our anchor. He is our power. He is our hope. He is our security and stability. He is our healer and deliverer. His name breaks chains. It breaks prison walls. It silences winds and waves. He is all we need. He never fails.
Let me share with you the lyrics of the song 'Raise a Hallelujah'. I pray that God gives all of you a strong spirit that would make you raise a hallelujah in front of your enemies. In the mightiest name of Jesus!
Raise a Hallelujah I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me I'm gonna sing, in the middle of the storm louder and louder, you're gonna hear my praises roar up from the ashes, hope will arise death is defeated, the King is alive! I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me! I'm gonna sing, in the middle of the storm louder and louder, you're gonna hear my praises roar up from the ashes, hope will arise death is defeated, the King is alive!
