ARE YOU A QUEEN?
by: lisa maki
In every woman's heart is a dream and desire to be a queen. This is the reason why fairy tales continue to live on. Regardless of generation, the stories of princesses will always appeal to little girls, which they carry on with them until their adult life.
God Himself has put this desire in our hearts for two reasons: to know who we are the way He created us to be; and to know who we are based on who He has called us to be.
Every woman has a royal DNA in her blood, simply because she came from a King. This is why she is drawn to anything that represents royalty. However, until she comes face-to-face with the King of all Kings, she will not understand her true royal heritage. This encounter is that life-changing moment when she has a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. At that moment, she takes off her earthly garment and puts on her royal robe.
Without this personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or the born-again experience, a woman will never even begin walking in royalty. This is the beginning. This is the day when Jesus Himself tells you, "You were created as a queen." This is the day when you shift from being a commoner to royalty. However, this is simply the beginning. This is where your training begins. Only when you pass the training will you be crowned as a rightful queen.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 |
God chose you as queen so you can proclaim His excellencies. This is why He took you out of darkness into His marvelous light. He also chose you to reign with Him.
2 Timothy 2:11-12 says: "If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; IF WE ENDURE, WE WILL ALSO REIGN WITH HIM." Being born-again is not only about 'living with Him' but 'reigning with Him.' The key is ENDURANCE, which is what the training is about. |
The question is: Are you operating like a queen? Does your lifestyle show that you are a queen? Do you dress, talk, and act like a queen?
One woman who exemplifies how a queen should act and dress up is Princess Kate. Though the Bible says so much more about queenship, this is the closest description I can give in relation to the physical attributes of a queen.
Jesus said that we will be known by our fruits. Fruits are seen in the physical. They are physically visible and obvious. Therefore, if we will list down the physical attributes or physical manifestations of a queen, the list will look like this.
You don't see her drinking in bars; dancing seductively; wearing clothes exposing her cleavage, legs, or behind; screaming or shouting; and every other behavior that is uncalled for for a queen.
Unfortunately, there are so many born-again women, or those who claim to be, who have not realized their queenship. They continue to walk like heathens and commoners. You see them smoking, drinking, cussing, dressed immodestly, screaming and shouting, etc. Why? Because they have not surrendered to their training. They received Jesus as Lord and Savior and left it there. Or they went through training and it became so difficult, so they gave up. Some gave in to the enemy.
The good thing about our King is that He uses our own downfall to make us cry out to Him in desperation. Then He comes and brings us back to His training ground where He heals and delivers us from all the issues that get in the way of becoming His rightful queens.
Ladies, our issues of insecurity, rejection, abandonment, and fear are the biggest hindrances to walking in royalty. I know exactly how it is because I've been there.
I used to not care about what I wear. I thought it was simply my style -- mini skirts with high heels and tight fitting dresses. You may say, "So, what's wrong with that?" That was exactly what I thought back then. Yet, when we go back to our description of a queen, my former manner of dressing did not fit the category. But more than the outfit and the physical appearance was the attitude that came with it ... a reflection of the issues I had within.
My deep insecurity issues influenced my manner of dressing -- clothes that said: "Look at me, I'm hot." Honestly, a woman who is so secure of herself does not have to show anything. Why would she? This is no different from a real rich person who does not need to show anyone that she has money.
My training brought about my healing, which brought about the physical change, the fruits. I began to understand what queenship really is, including the responsibilities that go with it. I started getting conscious of my outfits, making sure that I am rightfully representing the queenship that God has entrusted to me. Only then did I begin to walk in royalty. Only then was I crowned as queen. Therefore, I am now living the life of a queen, taking dominion and authority over territories that God has entrusted to me. And someday, I will be included among kings and queens who will be judging angels, kings and queens who will rule and reign with Jesus Christ when He returns and restores this world back to His original plan.
Being a rightful queen starts from the inside-out. No woman can fake it. It begins by healing from your deep-seated issues that get in the way of your 'walking in royalty'.
