Connection with Jesus
We believe that change starts by being connected to Jesus Christ … the great Restorer, Deliverer, and Healer. Everything starts and ends with Him. He is the Alpha and Omega. He holds our future and without that connection with Him, there won’t even be a future. He holds the blueprint of our lives, so without that connection with Him, we won’t even know where to go. He knows the thoughts and plans He has for us, so without being connected to Him, all our plans are doomed to fail.
John 3:3 says that unless a man is born-again He cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Romans 10:8-10 says …
But what does it say? The Word (God's message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach,
Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
This means that to be born-again, you have to believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess it with your lips. Once you do this sincerely, you start a real connection with God and change will start taking place from within you. This is the starting point of your life … a new beginning.
Intimacy with Jesus
When you get born-again or reborn, you begin a new life with Jesus. The old is gone, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). This is not the end in itself but the beginning. It is like receiving a KEY to God’s Kingdom. What you do with the KEY is up to you. You can choose to keep it in your pocket or you can choose to open the door. Once you open that door, it is again your choice whether you will walk in or just stand by the door. Once you walk inside, it is your choice whether you will continue walking in or you will back out and walk out.
We believe that being a true believer … being a real reborn person … being a true follower of Christ goes beyond just receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior. It goes further than just taking that KEY with you. Being a true believer means walking through that door and never turning back. This is the essence of Christianity. It is what intimacy with Jesus is about.
Having a real relationship with Jesus Christ is being intimate with Him. It’s like being married for real. You just don’t have a marriage contract but you honor the contract by spending undivided time, alone with Jesus everyday, in prayer and study of His Word. Intimacy with Jesus is falling in love with Him … more and more everyday. This love will keep the believer faithful to God and His Word.
Empathy balanced with tough love
We believe that women have the same issues, regardless of where they come from and what they’ve been through. We share the same issues of hurt, betrayal, abandonment, fear, hunger for love, etc. We were created with the same compassionate nature, nurturing character, loving and caring personality, ability to understand, giving spirit, etc. Even our weaknesses fall in the same areas: women are prone to being gullible and naïve.
It is for this reason why we empathize with every woman out there. However, empathy is not enough to help women change. We believe in balancing empathy with tough love. Tough love is showing what is wrong and dealing with the wrongness for what it is. Empathy balanced with tough love is hugging a friend, sister, mother, daughter, aunt, or any woman for that matter, and letting her know that you understand, but at the same time telling her what is wrong with her and what needs to be changed. It means not giving in to her weak emotions but challenging her to be strong.
Realness towards the Truth
We want to be as transparent as we can. We are not claiming to be perfect. We want women to see that we have our own weaknesses and frailties and that we deal with the same issues they deal with. We want to talk about real issues and not shy away from it -- issues on adultery, fornication, lust, homosexuality, sexual immorality, depression, and other issues that most Christians won’t dare talk about. We expose real issues and deal with it in the light of the Word of God, which is our only standard.
Change through desperation
We believe that real change happens when a woman becomes desperate to change … when she gets so sick and tired of her situation … when she has reached the end of the line … when she becomes sincerely serious about changing … when she is willing to give up anything just for her to have a better life. Unless a woman gets to this point, there will be no real change. Even if there will be some changes, they won’t last.
