My Marriage was God's Perfect Will
September 2012
Both my wife and I had reached a place in our walk, although we were doing ministry, we were getting tired of being alone. We burned with desire and longed for a spouse. This set in motion God's scanner over the face of the earth (apparently) to unify us.
Upon first looking at each other, it was a literal, no joke, love at first sight. Unforgettable. Yes just as cheesey and goofey and cliche as it sounds, the soul-mate stuff most scoff at and don't believe in comes true in God ... even her being near 40 and me near 30 yrs old!!!
We both marveled at each other's spirit, as if we can't believe somebody else loves the Father the same way we do! The spirit of God quickened in each one of us as never before.
God had already given her a vision of my face that was confirmed when she saw me. Plus God had a prophet tell her a foreigner was coming to sweep her off her feet. God also gave us a Word from the Bible to confirm: Sackcloth and ashes.
God used my gangster car to not only win a soul and edify that man's family, but to also use the proceeds from selling it to go claim my queen. It was an 87 cutlass salon with t tops airride 20's and fat system. God knows cars.
God made us both fight with every last ounce of faith to finally make it happen. It was a miracle marriage. God used a retired CIA agent to pull strings when satan was trying to keep us apart.
I had aborted two children, she had two children.
She was everything I pictured plus much more...
We balance each other tremendously.
In many ways we are opposites, but in others uncannily alike, like a brother and sister. After nearly 5 yrs of marriage we still feel like we are honeymooning.
We both speak in tongues, we both used to smoke and drink and party, and we both thought a marriage like this didn't exist and were willing to settle for crumbs.
Yes our being about Jesus so intensely, and with leadership, chased off many candidates time and again but we were not willing to compromise. We both have nasty pasts we would love to forget but know they are God's hand and glory today.
Even sexually, I must testify that both of us were our own worst enemy in this, as if having sex outside God's will ever turns into anything good. She thought men didn’t make love, and I thought I could never have sex again being riddled with infections. Low and behold, since the day we were married, and 30+ partners later, I have never in my life realized how beautiful love making can be, how blessed it truly is until being covered by Jesus. We prayed to experience love the way Yah intended and the prayers of the righteous availeth much. All the experiences of immorality combined never even scratched the surface of my ever evolving love life now ... it’s a real trip. I'm still trying to be delivered of wondering, "How is this possible? everytime we are intimate."
Need any more confirmation? We have endless.
Yah bless , grace and shalom, and press in faith.
We understand this isn't everybody's story, but we also believe through this that God can work miracles where ever you are, in a tired marriage, in any situation. God can move in your favor if you fight for that position in His purpose and belief; if you give your life up so that He can do a work; and if you let go of what you are hanging on to so that He can give you something much better.
